초록(영문)

In 4th century the Korean peninsula saw such a great change as to form an outstanding epoch, but there remains little documentation, which makes it difficult to reconstruct the society. Therefore, some experts on the ancient history and archaeology have focused on this period. This is also the case with Daegaya(大加耶). There is little work done. So based on the previous studies on the changes of 4th and 5th century Korean peninsula, I have concentrated on the development and change of Daegaya in this paper. Especially what momentum drove the development has been the main focus of my study. As the Yaro(冶爐) steel mine was exploited in the middle of 3rd century, Daegaya started to get on the slow paced development on the fertile farmland. And the development seems to have gained some acceleration from the establishment of diplomatic relation with Baekje(百濟) 10 mid-4th century and the following introduction of advanced cultures. In the meantime, as Koguryo(高句麗) advanced into the Guemgwangaya(金官加耶) territory in early 5th century, some population with advanced civilization flowed in, which caused Daegaya to witness a dramatic growth. This was possible primary because they didn't have to directly engage themselves in the war against Koguryo and they were able to conserve their potential. Equipped with the in-flowed cutting-edge technology, making a slow advance into the Western Kyongnarn area, Daegaya designated Hapcheon(陜川)-Bongsan(鳳山) area as a Habu(下部)-which was a section surrounding Kings city. And they furthered their activities up to the direct trade with China.
